I called Sky Caskets hoping to find an affordable option over what the funeral home offered. Mathew was so helpful and guided me to ensure I purchased the correct size casket and color. I received text picture of my options. The price was affordable. We were done in record time. I appreciate Mathew for lightening the heaviness during this difficult time. I would highly recommend Sky Casket wether you preplan or not. Thank you Sky Casket!! Santa Ana, CA

Work with this company. I worked with Matthew and Colby and they were both very profession and easy to talk to. Matthew listened to my requests, provided suggestions, and did not pressure me. Matthew treated me with respect. He acknowledged that this situation is difficult and didn’t ignore the sadness that I’m experiencing. They made me feel comfortable. I know my loved one is happy I ordered through a respectful company Memphis, TN

FAQs: Cobalt Steel Casket (Upgrade from Orion)

What does 20 gauge steel mean on a casket?
Gauge measures the thickness of the steel, and a lower number means thicker metal. A 20 gauge casket is the most widely chosen steel option in the United States, offering solid protection and a finished appearance at a more accessible price than heavier gauges.
Both are steel. An 18 gauge casket uses thicker metal and weighs more, while 20 gauge is slightly lighter and more affordable. The finish, interior and hardware options are similar, so the choice usually comes down to budget and how much weight the family wants to carry.
It is a dark blue finish, deep and even rather than bright. In person it reads close to navy, and it is one of the darker blues in the range.
The interior is a white crepe, which lifts the inside of the casket against the dark blue outside. The contrast is deliberate and is clearest when the lid is open at a viewing.
Both are dark blue. The Cobalt pairs its dark blue exterior with a white crepe interior, while the Orion Blue has a light blue crepe interior. The interior is the main visible difference.
It weighs about 180 pounds empty. That is a normal weight for a 20 gauge steel casket and is typically carried by six pallbearers, which is worth mentioning to your funeral director when they plan the service.
It ships exactly as pictured, with the same finish, interior fabric and hardware. This is a standard catalog casket rather than a made to order one, so what you see on this page is what arrives.
