What does 20 gauge steel mean on a casket?

Gauge measures the thickness of the steel, and a lower number means thicker metal. A 20 gauge casket is the most widely chosen steel option in the United States, offering solid protection and a finished appearance at a more accessible price than heavier gauges.

What is a crepe interior?

Crepe is a soft fabric with a lightly textured, gently gathered surface. It is a traditional interior choice because it drapes softly and gives the interior a calm, comfortable look under the lighting used at a service.

What color is the Mandarin casket?

It is an adobe red, a warm and slightly earthy red rather than a bright or fire engine one. The interior is a soft crepe that keeps the inside calm against the stronger exterior.

Is a red casket unusual?

It is less common than white or blue, and it is chosen deliberately. Families tend to select red for someone whose personality was bold or who simply loved the color, so it reads as a celebration rather than a default.

How does the Mandarin differ from the Crimson casket?

The Mandarin is a warmer adobe red with an orange leaning tone. The Crimson is a deeper burgundy red. If you want the darker, more traditional red, the Crimson is the closer match.

How much does the Mandarin weigh?

It weighs about 180 pounds empty. That is a normal weight for a 20 gauge steel casket and is typically carried by six pallbearers, which is worth mentioning to your funeral director when they plan the service.

Does it arrive exactly as shown?

It ships exactly as pictured, with the same finish, interior fabric and hardware. This is a standard catalog casket rather than a made to order one, so what you see on this page is what arrives.
