Bought a Casket Online -Above and Beyond The past few weeks have been a blur since our dad passed, but if it is a duplicate it's worth the extra credit received. This company went above and beyond for an American patriot. We could not get a casket delivered on time from anywhere else since it was over a holiday weekend, let alone a custom military casket. Thank you Shane and team, you blessed us immensely! Paris,Texas 11/29/2024

FAQs: United States Navy – 20 Gauge Steel

What does 20 gauge steel mean on a casket?
Gauge measures the thickness of the steel, and a lower number means thicker metal. A 20 gauge casket is the most widely chosen steel option in the United States, offering solid protection and a finished appearance at a more accessible price than heavier gauges.
Crepe is a soft fabric with a lightly textured, gently gathered surface. It is a traditional interior choice because it drapes softly and gives the interior a calm, comfortable look under the lighting used at a service.
The United States Navy seal is set into the interior lid panel, and Navy service emblems are fitted into the handle hardware along both sides. The casket itself is a navy blue finish with yellow and silver highlights.
The exterior is navy blue with yellow and silver highlights, and the interior is a white crepe. The white interior is what the seal on the lid panel sits against.
It is designed for a Navy service member or veteran, and the seal and emblems reflect that. Families honoring service in another branch will find the matching casket for that branch in the same range.
It weighs about 180 pounds empty. That is a normal weight for a 20 gauge steel casket and is typically carried by six pallbearers, which is worth mentioning to your funeral director when they plan the service.
This casket ships as shown, with the Navy seal and service emblems exactly as pictured. It is not a made to order casket, so the seal and hardware are fixed.
